It mixed underground fresh fashion labels with top brands like Diesel, G Star and Replay and was the only place to be seen throughout the 80s and 90s. From there, this small independent grew into the larger company it is today, with three shops in the capital and one store across the way in Glasgow, bringing you the top fashion labels from around the globe. Happy Pancake Dayhttp://www.xileclothing.com/blog/Happy-Pancake-Day2013-02-12Xile ClothingIt's Pancake day, YES. Also known as Shrove Tuesday, it is the day preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Shrove Tuesday is determined by Easter; its date changes annually... Blah blah blah, let's be honest we just want an excuse to munch a load of pancakes and don't need to know the reasons why, any day that revolves around food is fine by me. What's your favourite filling? Can you flip them? Do you make them in your pants? Just a few of the questions flying around today.

I think I'll go for some chocolate spread and peanut butter tonight and wear these bad boys to make them, the new Farah Goodhew swimshorts. They will keep me dry from any splashes and the stretchy waistline makes sure there is room for the expanding waist.

Diesel Does Coloured Denimshttp://www.xileclothing.com/blog/Diesel-Does-Coloured-Denims2013-02-11Xile ClothingDenims have always been an integral part of any mans wardrobe. The ability to dress them up with a shirt and blazer or style them out with a plain white tee means they have played a major part in youth culture movements and styles all over the world time and time again.

Last summer we saw the rise of the chino and its attempt to bring down the king of fashion with a range of fits to match any denim brand and it’s unique selling point…colour.

Denim had only one choice; join in. Not satisfied with the huge selection of washes already on offer, brands offered up the coloured denim and nobody done it better than denim giants Diesel. With an initial drop of gold, navy and washed out burgundy last season, the options this season have grown. With five colour options over three styles it couldn’t be easier to get into this trend. Take a look at the options below and the rest of the Diesel Spring/Summer 2013 range]]>We Don't Need No Guettahttp://www.xileclothing.com/blog/We-Dont-Need-No-Guetta2013-02-05Xile ClothingThe man who we booked to help open our Xile Glasgow store and absolute house music legend Kerri Chandler has finally said what we all want to say.

Playing at Rex Club in Paris at the weekend, Kerri finally had enough of the requests and killed the music mid set to deliver a very important message.

Although one of our buyers does love a bit of David Guetta and Rihanna there is a time and a place, and an underground house club is neither. He maybe should of just given them a map to the nearset cheesy nightclub spot with a VIP table package.

We Still Need Jacketshttp://www.xileclothing.com/blog/We-Still-Need-Jackets2013-02-04Xile ClothingWith a hint of sunshine appearing, rapidly followed by snow and rain, the need for a jacket is still high on the priority list. Although Spring/Summer 2013 deliveries are coming in thick and fast, our selection of brands keep the British weather in mind and offer up some solid jackets for this transitional period. With G Star, Barbour and Luke leading the way we’ve picked out a few of our favourites.

The G Star 5260 Ski Quilted Jacket comes in two colours; black and raw grey. A padded jacket with a high neck is a definite must for this weather and as it is lightweight you will still be wearing it come spring.

It seems as though Replay have revolutionised the denim making process. No longer is the lengthy process involving stones, sand blasting and washing a pair of denims 16 times in 16 different complicated ways needed, this futuristic process simply burns the wash onto a raw pair of denims using 85% less water than normal and avoids using any chemicals.

Having stocked these last season and realising how much everybody was loving them I am totally sold on this technique and can only imagine other denim brands will soon follow, I'm looking forward to the full spring summer 2013 collection dropping but for now this early preview will do… these are available now in store and online.

Started in 1874 by friends William Lyle and Walter Scott in the small Scottish border town of Hawick to create the finest quality knitwear all on the strength of an £800 loan. It took 80 years before they took there first real dive into the world of fashion by designing an exclusive cashmere collection for French legend Christian Dior, that range helped propel the status of Lyle & Scott from local brand to world wide clothing brand.

In the late 1960s golfers stared adopting the brans as their uniform with a mixture of smart knits and cardigans with a range of colours it suited the sport perfectly. This led to a dedicated golf range and could be seen on top names like Tony Jacklin and Greg Norman as well as regular TV appearances when worn by golf fan and comedian Ron]]>Barbour Steve McQueenhttp://www.xileclothing.com/blog/Barbour-Steve-McQueen2012-11-28Xile ClothingWhat happens when a legendary historic clothing brand approved by The Queen joins forces with a legendary actor, racing driver and all round man’s man? You get one of the strongest and most iconic capsule collections there has been. Barbour, the legendary British clothing brand dating back to 1894 decided to celebrate the 75th anniversary of their unmistakable International Motorcycle jacket by releasing The Steve McQueen collection.

Combine this with the fact that there is something unnerving about someone wielding a blade (however small) in such close proximity to your throat and you’ll understand my initial misgivings.

As I lay in the chair waiting for my ordeal to begin, my nerves began to play up again! As soon as the first hot towel was gently wrapped around my face I began to feel extremely relaxed though. Italian denim specialists Diesel have launched a revolutionary new range of jeans designed to transform raw denim into battered vintage in only 30 days. The turbo denim technology promises to revolutionise the raw denim ageing process with its high velocity approach and is totally exclusive to Diesel for 2 years.
